    Along with his current involvement in the percussion quartet Without Borders and faculty ensembles at UCM, Alex also participated in collegiate ensembles at Michigan State University, such as the MSU Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and Musique 21 Ensemble. Alex has also performed with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, the Carolina Brass Quintet, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Tar River Symphony Orchestra, the Greenville Pops Orchestra, and the Triangle Brass Band.
    At MSU Alex studied with Professor Gwendolyn Dease and Dr. Jon Weber. He has also studied with Dr. Jonathan Wacker, Mr. Chris Nappi, Mr. Stephen Burke, and Mr. Shannon Wood.
